If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), or in another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you can require that your personal information not be sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. This page sets out how to exercise that right with Unsitting.

How This Applies to Us

There is no monetary sale of personal information by Unsitting. The practice that engages this right is narrower — where ads are served, advertising and cookie identifiers may be shared with ad partners. Given how broadly the statutes define ‘sale’ and ‘share’, we assume it counts and provide the opt-out. Every visitor to unsitting.com can exercise this, regardless of whether they have ever given us an email address.

The Effect of Opting Out

Once opted out, we stop sharing advertising identifiers with ad partners. Advertising itself may continue in generic form. There is no penalty of any kind: the site is not degraded, restricted, or priced differently for readers who opt out.

Failing that, use the cookie banner where shown, or email hello@unsitting.com, subject line ‘Do Not Sell or Share’. We never require an account to process an opt-out.
